How do I install the Snitcher tracker on my website?

This article will show you how to install the Snitcher Tracker on your website

So you just signed up for the free trial period and would like to start identifying the companies behind your anonymous website visits.

Before getting started you must first install Stitcher's tracking script on your website.

We've listed a few options below:


Manual installation

1️⃣ Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Click the code icon in the bottom-left:

2️⃣ Copy the Snitcher tracking code to your clipboard:

3️⃣ Paste it before the closing </body> tag of all pages on your website.

4️⃣ Now publish the changes and Snitcher should be installed on your website!

🚨 TIP: If you are using any caching services or plugins, don't forget to clear them!


Installation via Google Tag Manager

1️⃣ Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Click the code icon in the bottom-left:

2️⃣ Copy the Snitcher tracking code to your clipboard:

3️⃣ Sign in to your workspace on Google Tag Manager and click ‘New Tag’.

4️⃣ Click on ‘Tag Configuration’ and choose ‘Custom HTML’ from the list.

5️⃣ Paste the Snitcher tracking code you copied in step 2 into the HTML field.

6️⃣ Under ‘Advanced Settings’, select "Unlimited" from the ‘Tag firing’ dropdown.

7️⃣ Click Choose a trigger to make this tag fire... and select All Pages. Give the tag a name and then click the Save button.

8️⃣ Save the Tag and publish it on your website

💡 TIP: Don't forget to publish your tag!


Installation via a WordPress plugin

1️⃣ Sign in to your website's WP Admin. Navigate to Plugins -> Add New.

2️⃣ Search for the Head, Footer and Post Injections plugin. Click Install Now and Active the plugin.

3️⃣ Navigate to Settings → Header and Footer in your WordPress dashboard. You’ll see a number of tabs in the plugin’s interface. Make sure you're in the default 'Head and footer' tab.

4️⃣ In a new browser tab, Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Click the code icon in the top-right:

5️⃣ Copy the Snitcher tracking code to your clipboard:

6️⃣ Switch back to your WP admin and paste the code under the 'On every page' field on the 'Head and footer' tab:


7️⃣ Don't forget to save your changes!

💡 TIP: If you are using any caching services or plugins, don't forget to clear them!


Installation via Webflow

1️⃣ Navigate to Project Settings → Custom Code in your Webflow dashboard.

2️⃣ Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Click the code icon in the bottom-left:

3️⃣ Copy the Snitcher tracking code to your clipboard:

4️⃣ Click Save Changes and Publish the changes to your domain

5️⃣ To make sure everything is ready, verify that your code was installed.


Installation via Wix

🚨 TIP: Only Wix sites with connected domains are supported.

Before following the Wix installation instructions, make sure you have a connected domain. You can visit the Wix Help Center for more details on this.

1️⃣ Navigate to Settings → Advanced → Custom Code in your Wix dashboard.

2️⃣ Click + Add Custom Code.

3️⃣ Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Click the code icon in the bottom-left:

4️⃣ Copy the following code and paste it into the provided text field:

5️⃣ Under the Add Code to Pages option, we recommend selecting All pages.

6️⃣ Click Apply to save the changes. Allow a few minutes for the changes to take effect.

7️⃣ To make sure everything is ready, verify that your code was installed.


Installation via Squarespace

🚨 TIP: Only Premium Squarespace plans are supported.

To see if you are on Squarespace premium plan, head to their support document Premium Squarespace plans.

1️⃣ Navigate to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection in your Squarespace dashboard.

2️⃣ Click + Add Custom Code.

3️⃣ Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Click the code icon in the bottom-left:

4️⃣ Copy the following code and paste it into the Header section text field:

5️⃣ Click Save and allow a few minutes for the changes to take effect.

6️⃣ To make sure everything is ready, verify that your code was installed.
