The Wix Custom Code panel is visible on free trials, but any snippets you save won't actually run on your live site until you've upgraded to a paid plan and connected a domain.
🚨 TIP: Only Wix sites with a paid plan and a connected domain are supported.
You can visit the Wix Help Center for more details on connecting a domain.
1️⃣ Sign in to your Snitcher dashboard. Go to Settings → Snitcher from the sidebar, then navigate to Tracker → Installation Instructions and copy the tracking code to your clipboard.
2️⃣ Sign in to your Wix dashboard. In the left sidebar, click Settings (at the bottom of the menu).
3️⃣ Scroll down to the Development & integrations section and click Custom code.
4️⃣ Click + Add Custom Code in the top-right corner.
5️⃣ Paste the Snitcher tracking code into the Paste the code snippet here field.
💡 (Optional: rename the snippet from "Custom" to something more descriptive, like "Snitcher".)
6️⃣ Under Add Code to Pages, leave Load code once selected. The Snitcher script handles routing internally and only needs to load once per session.
7️⃣ Under Place Code in, leave Head selected. This is the default and the recommended placement for the Snitcher tracker.
8️⃣ Click the Code Type tab. Leave Essential selected (the default).
9️⃣ Click Apply.
🔟 Your Snitcher snippet will now appear in the list under the Head section, showing Applied on: All pages and Code type: Essential. Make sure the toggle on the right is on (blue).
🚨 TIP: Allow a few minutes for the changes to take effect.
💡 A note on Code Type
We recommend selecting Essential as the default, but the right choice depends on your team's privacy posture. Some teams classify the Snitcher tracker as Analytics so it's gated behind their visitor consent banner.
The Snitcher tracker integrates automatically with Cookiebot, OneTrust, and Transcend - see our Cookie Consent documentation for the full picture.
If you're not sure which classification fits your setup, check with whoever owns privacy and compliance at your company before publishing.
✅ To make sure everything is ready, verify that your code was installed.
