Smartlead lets you send bulk emails across multiple domains, protecting your domain’s health while reaching more potential customers.
When integrated with Snitcher, which provides detailed intent data on interested companies, you can target companies visiting your site, by sending leads to Smartlead.
This integration will send leads to personalised email campaigns to contact people that are actively in market. This powerful combination ensures high open rates without compromising your domain’s reputation.
What You'll Need
Before we dive into the setup, make sure you have the following:
👉 Buyer Persona: Setup a buyer persona here
👉 Segment: Setup a segment here
How to Connect Smartlead
To get started, navigate to the settings pages -> integrations -> Smartlead and follow the prompts. Or hit the button below.
With just a few clicks you can connect the platforms and get back to implementing.
What will this do?
While it's a one-way sync—Snitcher to Smartlead only—this integration lets you power an automated outbound engine by automatically contacting website visitors, as soon as they visit the website!
👉 Automated Lead Export: Snitcher can automatically export contacts to your Smartlead campaigns based on specific triggers (e.g., when a company visits the pricing page).
👉 Personalise your outreach: Create targeted campaigns for different buyer personas by tracking their actions on your website. Snitcher helps you decide which contacts to send to specific platforms or campaigns, ensuring your messaging reaches the right people.
👉 Automate Outreach: While manually adding leads to campaigns is an option, we recommend setting up automated workflows to engage with your leads as soon as they visit the website.
What campaigns should I create for Snitcher's identifications?
The Key: Right Person, Right Message, Right Time
At Snitcher we believe in leveraging our "three pillars of outbound" Right Person, Right Message, Right Time.
When creating an email campaign it's important to have a personalised message (right message) to the right person, and if they're looking at your product on the website - it's likely the right time to be selling to them.
However, sending generic, one-size-fits-all messages won’t cut it. For example, an email that says, "We support the software industry with sales leads," is too broad and lacks relevance.
This is why it's important to:
👉 Create an email that has messaging that resonates to the needs and challenges of specific roles, such as Sales Managers or Marketers.
👉 Add the right people to each campaign based - base this their website behaviour.
👉 Ensure the content of your email matches the pages the lead has viewed—like sending a sales-related email to someone who visited the sales page.
It's generally a best practice to create multiple campaigns in case you can't find the right persona. For example, if there are no sales people at a company, you can add a marketer to a campaign.
Snitcher helps automate this process by building behaviour-based filters, ensuring that the right person is added to the right campaign with a message tailored to their role and interests.
For example: if a lead visits the sales page, automatically add a sales persona to an email campaign
Below we will walk you through how to tie our data into Smartlead email campaigns so you can contact the right person with the right message at the right time.
Manually Send Leads to Smartlead
Navigate to the ‘People’ section in your Snitcher dashboard. You'll find a roster of all employees at the company. By scrolling to the right, you'll see the location indicated.
💡 You’ll want to reach out to the people based on the targeted location.
👉 Click on the lead you want to send to Smartlead and then select “Send to Smartlead”
💡 By creating campaigns for specific personas—like sales or marketing—you ensure that your communication resonates with the reader. Different personas have different needs, so personalizing your Smartlead flow for each one boosts engagement and shows that you understand what matters most to them.
👉 Choose which Smartlead campaign to send your leads into, allowing you to tailor your messaging perfectly. e.g. if the target is a sales leader, then you’d have to click on the sales campaign.
How to Send Leads to Smartlead with Automation
To configure an automation that sends leads to Smartlead, you will first need to create a Segment & a Buyer Persona in Snitcher.
We suggest following the guide to automatically filter for relevant leads to make sure you only send engaged leads and avoid contacting irrelevant companies.
Once you have a Segment configured, head over to the Automations page.
👉 Select event = 'New lead'
👉 Segment = you selection e.g. 'All ICP'
👉 Action = Reveal contacts
👉 Destination = Your Smartlead campaign
Tagging the Company, Adding CEO to Email Campaign
Because this integration is only a 1-way sync, Snitcher can’t tell if a contact has already been added to a Smartlead campaign. So, to avoid adding the same person from the same company multiple times, we suggest tagging them once they’re in a campaign.
This way, you’ll know exactly who’s already been targeted, ensuring you don’t accidentally send duplicates and keeping your campaigns streamlined and effective.
👉 Scroll down to “Tags” and add or select the appropriate tagging for the company i.e Smartlead Campaign
Bonus feature: Keeping your data clean
If you were doing this manually, you'd be tagging each company with the Smartlead campaign tag yourself.
When running an automation, it's not possible to see all the leads that have been sent to Smartlead historically. This is why we recommend setting up Snitcher to automatically tag these companies, keeping your process seamless and efficient.
The automation below matches the trigger criteria of the automated campaign above. This means Snitcher will automatically tag high-intent ICP while sending them directly into a Smartlead campaign.
As always, have fun and feel free to drop us a message if you feel like saying hello, have an idea or need a hand getting set up 👋
