Suggested people — how contact suggestions work

Written by Frencheska Peren

This guide covers two features that work together. A buyer persona defines who you are looking for at a company, the job titles, seniority and departments you sell to.

Suggested people is the assistant that takes that definition, looks at a specific company, and hands you a short list of actual named people to contact, with their email already revealed.

👉 Personas describe the shape. Suggested people finds the people.

Who is this suited for?

  • Sales managers distributing the right contacts to their team

  • Account executives who want the decision makers at a target account

  • SDRs building outreach lists

  • Sales enablement and anyone responsible for routing leads to the right owner

What will this do?

A buyer persona is a saved filter that highlights the right people at a company based on their role. Once you have one, Suggested people uses it to pick 2 to 4 specific contacts at a company, explains why each one was chosen, reveals their email, and lets you send them straight to your CRM or outreach tool.

You do not need a persona to use Suggested people, it works either way. But defining your personas first makes the suggestions sharper and more predictable, because the assistant ranks persona matches first.

Before we begin

A few things worth setting up first:

Two things specific to Suggested people:

  • It must be enabled for your workspace or account. If it is off, the panel does not appear (see "Good to know").

  • The company must have at least one known contact. Suggested people picks from a company's existing contacts, so a company with none never shows the panel.

Part A: Define your buyer persona

Step 1: Create the buyer persona

You can create a persona in two places: the Create Persona button on a company, or the Buyer Personas settings page.

Step 2: Define your typical buyer

A persona is built from up to five filters:

  • Management Level (seniority): multi-select, "one of" or "not one of"

  • Department & Job Function: multi-select, "one of" or "not one of"

  • Job Title: free text, Contains or Does Not Contain

  • Country: multi-select

  • State: multi-select

👉 Job Title (recommended).

Job Title is the most precise filter. When you want to match several titles, add each as its own Contains value separated with OR, so "Marketing" OR "Growth" matches anyone whose title contains either.

🚨 Always separate job titles with OR, not AND. A person's title cannot contain two different words at once, so AND would match nobody.

Step 3: Bring it all together

Combine the filters that describe your buyer and save the persona.

💡 You can create multiple personas for the different types of buyer you sell to, and Suggested people will consider all of them.

Part B: Let Suggested people find the humans

Step 4: Open a company's People tab

The Suggested people panel sits on a company's People tab, above the contact list. Before you run it, it shows a "Find the right people" prompt with a Start search button.

Step 5: Start the search and watch it work

Click Start search. The assistant works through a few passes and narrates each step as it goes (for example, "Screened 120 contacts down to 8 candidates," then "Revealed email addresses for the 3 suggested people").

It:

  1. Builds a roster of the company's known contacts, ranking anyone matching your personas first, then by seniority.

  2. Narrows that down to a shortlist.

  3. Chooses 2 to 4 finalists, sometimes checking the web for recent role changes or company news.

  4. Reveals each finalist's email, and drops anyone whose email can't be found, so every card you see is ready to act on.

💡 You can click away while it runs, the search continues in the background.

Step 6: Read the reasoning on each card

Each suggested person comes as a card with a one or two sentence explanation at the top, above their details, telling you why they were picked.

The reasoning is grounded in concrete facts: a buyer persona match, their role and seniority, their department, or something found in research. For example, "As COO, Maria owns the processes your product changes."

When a suggestion matches one of your personas, the reasoning says so by name, which is the visible link back to the persona work you did in Part A.

Each card also shows a photo, verified badge, name, job title, location, and the revealed email as a click-to-copy pill.

Step 7: Hand the person off to your CRM or outreach tool

There is no emailing from inside Snitcher, the hand-off to your own tool is the point.

Each card has a Send to... button that pushes the person to a connected tool, for example HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho for CRM, or Apollo, lemlist or Smartlead for outreach (plus notification channels like Slack and Teams).

More CRMs and tools are supported, only the ones you've actually connected appear in the menu.

Once sent, the card flips to a "View in..." link so you can see it's already synced. You can also tick several suggestions and send them in one batch.

What this means for you

  • You no longer scroll a company's whole contact list hunting for the right person. You get 2 to 4 named people, each with a reason.

  • Their email is already revealed by the time the card appears, no extra step.

  • The persona work from Part A is what makes the picks match how you actually sell. Change your personas and the next search reflects it.

  • Running a search again doesn't replace what's on screen. New picks are added to the front and the existing cards slide over, so nothing you were still considering disappears.

  • Each new search deliberately surfaces people you haven't seen yet. Contacts already suggested or dismissed are skipped next time.

  • Suggested people never invents anyone. It only ever picks from contacts Snitcher already knows at that company.

Settings and options

  • Refresh re-runs the search on the same company and adds fresh picks.

  • Dismiss (in the "..." menu on a card) hides that card and keeps that person out of future searches on the company.

  • Reveal phone number (also in the "..." menu) is optional and opt-in, and is charged separately (see the credits note below). It never happens automatically.

Auto-revealing a persona with Automations

Separately from Suggested people, you can set up an Automation that automatically reveals contacts matching a chosen persona whenever a company is seen.

  • Set it up on the Automations page.

  • The action takes one buyer persona (required) and a Reveal Limit that caps how many people are revealed per company.

  • You can choose to reveal email, phone, or both. Phone reveals cost 5 times an email reveal.

  • The action can send to up to 3 destinations.

🚨 This automation spends reveal credits every time it fires, so set the Reveal Limit deliberately, especially on high-traffic sites.

💳 Credits: you are not charged twice

Running a Suggested people search costs no AI credits. The only thing you are charged for is the email reveal credits spent on the people it actually suggests, 1 credit per email, and only for the final 2 to 4 people.

The roster and shortlist are never revealed.

  • If a suggested contact's email was already revealed in your workspace, there's no new charge.

  • Revealing a phone number is the one extra cost, and only if you ask: it costs 5 credits from the card's "..." menu, and never happens automatically.

In short: one flow, one charge, the same email reveal credit you'd have spent revealing that person by hand.

Good to know

  • Suggested people is off by default and switched on per user or per workspace. If you don't see it, it may not be enabled for your workspace, reach out to support and we'll help you sort it out.

  • The panel also won't appear if the company has no known contacts. Filters and search terms on the people list don't affect it.

  • A search considers up to 120 contacts, shortlists them, and returns 2 to 4 people (fewer only when the company genuinely has no other viable candidate).

  • Only one search runs per company at a time. Clicking again returns the run already in progress rather than starting a second, which also prevents double-spending reveal credits.

  • Contacts' emails and phone numbers are never sent to the AI, it only sees name, title, seniority, departments, location, and persona matches.

  • Eventually a company's contacts run out. Once everyone has been suggested or dropped, a new search tells you there's nobody left rather than repeating earlier picks.

Troubleshooting

I don't see Suggested people on the People tab. It may not be enabled for your workspace or account, or the company has no known contacts. Reach out to support if you'd like it enabled.

The search found nobody. Every contact at that company has already been suggested, or was dropped for having no findable email. Try another company.

A suggestion shows a "Reveal email" button instead of "Send to...". Your email reveal credits ran out partway through. The suggestion is kept, not discarded, and you can reveal it manually once you have credits.

"Send to..." is greyed out. No email address could be found for that person, so there's nothing to hand off.

I ran a search again and got different people. That's intended, each search skips everyone already suggested or dismissed so you get new names.

My persona changes didn't affect the suggestions. Existing cards are from earlier searches. Run a new search to pick up an updated persona.
