Account ownership: who manages what

Agency admins, client admins, users and data across the workspaces in your Partner Portal.

Written by Stef

A client workspace under your Partner Portal is the client's account, run by you.

Your agency creates it, manages it and can pay for it, and the client's own people work in it alongside yours. Here's who can do what.

Your agency's workspace

Your own workspace is where the Partner Portal lives. Anyone on your team who's an admin there can:

  • create client workspaces and switch into them

  • activate subscriptions and choose who pays

  • see every client's status, billing route and price in Client Management

  • manage your badge, branding and referral code

  • upload payout invoices

Team members who aren't admins can use Snitcher in your workspace as normal, but they won't see billing or the Partner Portal. How do I invite team members to use Snitcher? explains the admin and non-admin roles.

The client's workspace

Each client workspace has its own team, its own data and its own settings. Inside it:

  • Your agency's admins have full access: segments, integrations, automations, users and, if you pay for the workspace, billing.

  • The client's users are invited by you during setup or later from the workspace's Settings → Team, and you can add or remove them at any time.

  • The client's admin is needed for one thing you can't do for them: receiving the payment invitation if the client pays for the workspace themselves. Give someone the admin role under Settings → Team → Users in their workspace.

💡 Every workspace is its own team. Inviting someone to your agency workspace doesn't give them access to a client workspace, and the other way round.

Whose data it is

The data in a client workspace belongs to the client, and you're working with it on their behalf. So make sure your agreement with the client covers Snitcher: what it identifies, where it sends data (their CRM, Slack), and who on your side has access.

The Agency Partner Program Addendum spells out the details.

Data doesn't move between workspaces. Segments, lists and integrations are set up per workspace.

If a client wants to leave your agency

A client can ask us at any time to take their workspace out of your Partner Portal. When that happens:

  • the workspace carries on as a normal Snitcher account, with the client's own admin in charge of billing

  • your agency's access is removed, unless the client keeps your team on as users

  • your kickback on that workspace stops from the day it's removed

If you've been paying for the client's workspace, the subscription needs to move to the client first. Message us in the chat and we'll arrange the hand-over with both sides.

If your agency leaves the program

Client workspaces the client pays for carry on unchanged between the client and Snitcher. Workspaces your agency pays for carry on until their subscription ends or is cancelled. Kickbacks stop accruing from the day you leave, and anything you've already earned is paid in the normal quarterly cycle.
